Trends: All White Everything

 

There is always going to be some new fashion trend every year,very few have power to stay on for over a year or two or even turn out to be timeless. Remember when every “fashionista” wanted to blind our eyes with outrageous color combinations all in the name of color blocking. Well thank Heavens that is over.

You would agree with me when I say white is not only difficult to wear since it gets dirty easily but also a little hard to successfully style. With that being said lets face it, white makes you look bright and fresh and for my narcissist easily noticeable. For those of you who want to look trendy in all white here are some celebrity looks and shots from a look book that may inspire your all white fantasies.Minimal Dreams is the name of the  spring/summer 2014 collection by Nigerian fashion label Re Bahia.  Although I may not go all out like Riri to show my taatas to the world, I must say the second look is my favorite.  (photo credit:kiki melissa studio)

Speaking of Rihanna, here she is at the Met gala looking fierce in all white. Yes I know the average person would not necessarily wear a skirt like that one  (although I know some people who would)  I just had to throw that in there.

 

 

Something more simple and elegant, here is our very own actress Yvonne Nelson. As I type this I begin to wonder why there are very few SUCCESSFUL Ghanaian actresses but then again that is a whole new topic for discussion.

 

Selita Ebanks and Rocsi Diaz both looking stunning in a similar all white tux dress. If I had to choose I would probably go for…..hmmmm my vain self would pick Rocsi just because she’s showing off what her mama gave her, but there is something about Selita’s look that seems lady like and more sophisticated.

From Kim K to Eva Longoria, to Cara Santana to Taylor Swift to Rihanna and so many other celebrity looks I came across but don’t want to waste your time, the all white ensemble that has my heart has got to be Rita Ora’s, just because she is having fun with it. It is always not that serious you know.

 

And of course there is something here for the fellas

 

You cannot talk about  fashion not mention the guy who thinks he is a god, Kanye West and South African rapper AKA who cleans up soo nice. But honestly I kind of envy men sometimes, a simple white tee, white pants and sneakers and you are good to go.

 

Again all white is seen on the runway as designer Nazir Mazhar premiered this sporty look as part of his 2015 spring/summer collection

 

Big brother Africa winner Uti showed off this look on his IG page by designer Yomi Casual. So guys if you want to spice it up, this may just be the look

Well ladies I am not done just yet, both Eku Edewor and Nicole Richie give us some casual but yet badass all white inspiration

The Short Haircut Trend

I saw this photo on IG and it got me laughing for days.  Well ladies whether you paid for it or you are rocking “what your mama gave ya”, I  believe your hair game must always be on point. Incase you are wondering why I’m blogging about short hair, well for starters cause I feel like it. 🙂  and I happen to love short hair.  Although I’m not a lover of the weave version.

Anyway here is a look at some celebrities who fallen victims into the pond of short hair fabulousity

I believe anyone who wants to go down the short hair lane should always, always, always! take inspiration from Rihanna.  She is a pro when it comes to this trend.

Aaah yess My girl crush Kendra Divine Etufunwa ♥♥♥♥. She looked soo Divine (just like her name) when she decided to rock a short haircut. Then again I’m obsessed…so she can do no wrong in my eyes.
 
Then there are the extremists. I believe it takes a really bold and beautiful girl to rock the “bald chick” look. Mtvbase vj, Nomuzi Mabena does it soo well

  Difficult, but I eventually found a couple of personal shots of my safe and not too extreme version of a short haircut

So Ladies how about we ditch the Brazillian, Peruvian, Indian, Yugoslavian, Somalian or whatever type of weave that exist and chop it all off. What do say?

Ps: if you are “balling on a budget” I think short hair is the way to go.
